Contact: Scott Hommel / scotthommel@soforamerica.org / 518.595.4340
Special Operations for America is pleased to announce our full support for former Navy SEAL Gabriel Gomez in the Massachusetts Special Election for U.S. Senate. A Special Election is being held to fill the seat vacated by John Kerry since his confirmation as Secretary of State.
“SEAL’s and other Special Operators are proven leaders in solving the most difficult challenges around the globe. It is time we start electing the same caliber of leaders to solve our problems in Washington,” said Former Commander at SEAL Team Six and Chairman of Special Operations for America, Ryan Zinke.
“The past 50 years have seen a dramatic decrease of Congressional representatives who have served in our Armed Forces. With grid lock at an all-time high and our Trust in government near record lows, America needs leaders with integrity, honor, and courage. Gabriel Gomez has proven himself to be the type of leader we need to restore the freedoms and principles that made America the greatest country on Earth.”
Special Operations for America is proud to call Gabriel Gomez our brother in the battle to take back America. We are honored to support him in his mission to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic as a United States Senator. “Gabriel Gomez is a proven warrior on the battlefield as well as a successful leader in the business world. It is time we start sending men and women to Washington that are willing to do what is right, even if that means standing alone” Added Zinke.
Special Operations for America is a Political Action Committee with a mission to recruit, support and elect real American leaders that defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.

Next time Mass Republican Dan Winslow uses "Fat cat" reference this

"I've never been able to understand why a Republican contributor is a 'fat cat' and a Democratic contributor of the same amount of money is a 'public-spirited philanthropist'."
- Ronald Reagan

Dan Winslow -  To offset that loss of revenue, Winslow says he would cut special interest corporate tax loopholes. Such loopholes include $7 billion annually in subsidies to oil and gas companies, $300 million in corporate jet tax write-offs and billions in what he says started as farming tax breaks.

Sounds like a page from the script of a stump speech given by now-Senator Elizabeth Warren, a Democrat.

Winslow's response to that sentiment? "I'm going beyond what Elizabeth Warren has said in terms of tax loopholes. Unless there is some measurable benefit for all Americans, I'm against it. Because that means it is just a special interest fat cat loophole."  http://www.necn.com/03/20/13/Dan-Winslows-tax-plan-blurs-party-lines/landing_politics.html?blockID=835367&feedID=11106

Senator Mike Lee Offers Amendment to Ban Most Gun Control in the Senate

Mike Lee - a Teaparty favorite and backed by Jim Demint's @SCFpac has a spot on bill in the works. See deatils below and support this Patriot!

Gun Owners of America

Senator Lee to Offer Amendment Tonight to Ban Most Gun Control in the Senate

We realize it’s short notice, but we wanted to alert you that, later tonight, Senator Mike Lee of Utah intends to offer an amendment to the budget resolution that would prohibit any gun control legislation which does not have a 2/3 vote in the Senate.

We know, we know. We would prefer to prohibit any and all gun control, even if it had 100 votes.
But if the Lee amendment is passed, the practical effect will be that gun control can never again pass the Senate.

Given the Armageddon-like fight which we are now engaged in in the Senate, achieving a gun-control peace for the rest of our lifetimes would be a good thing.
ACTION: Contact your Senators. Ask them to vote for the Lee amendment which would require a 2/3 vote for the Senate to impose any gun control.

You may Click here to use The Action Center, or you can call your Senators since time is short. The number for the Senate is 202-224-3121.

Gomez Urban Strategy, Major Fundraising News & updated Social metrics in #MAsen

On the Campaign trail Gabriel Gomez visits , and yesterday, talks about immigration, budgets.  Talking about his Seven point plan, urban outreach and Pro legal immigration reform but not Amnesty. Also reports Solid and substantial early Fundraising.

Dan Winslow released his plan that blurs lines with Democrats, reaches across the aisle on eliminating tax deductions. Again accedes to Liberal idea's language and in this case raising more taxes. Claims he went further than Elizabeth Warren.

No new news from Mike Sullivan though he is under fire from the right on his previous Ted Kennedy and John Kerry #2A gun endorsements. He was opposed by numerous gun groups back in 2008.

Updated Social Metrics - A win for Gomez on Facebook, Sullivan on Twitter.

Republican Gabriel Gomez raises substantial money in Mass Senate primary

Gabriel Gomez is set to release significant fundraising numbers for the past 5 weeks tomorrow. According to reports that figure will be $350,000 which is a huge number for a relatively unknown candidate and political outsider.  Gabriel is the son of Colombian immigrants, a former Navy SEAL, a HSB grad and a local businessman.

“From the beginning, I’ve said the problem in Washington is not a lack of ideas, but a lack of courage,” Gomez said in an advance statement. “The overwhelming level of grassroots and financial support shows that Republican and independent voters agree.” Gomez said he will continue to ask voters for support “in sending to Washington a new, fiscally conservative voice for reform.”

This will be a huge boost to his campaign and foster further contributions and support as his candidacy takes on increased legitimacy. It also allows Gabriel to continue to expand his campaign and opens up potential  future positive media buys to spread his message and tell his compelling story to the voters.

My money is on the Navy SEAL in this primary...

In Case You Missed It!
“Sen. Elizabeth Warren wants to raise minimum wage to $22 per hour"

Boston- Yesterday, citing a college professor’s study, Senator Elizabeth Warren advocated raising the minimum wage to $22 per hour according to various reports including The Washington Times.

“Only an out-of-touch college professor paid well over $300,000 to teach one class could conclude that our struggling economy and small businesses can shoulder a government mandate of this magnitude," said Kirsten Hughes, MassGOP Chairman.  "Senator Warren’s musings would cripple businesses and increase the unemployment lines.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren wants to raise minimum wage to $22 per hour
WASHINGTON TIMES
By Cheryl K. Chumley
3/18/13

“Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Massachusetts Democrat, suggested raising the minimum wage to $22 per hour is only logical if you look at the numbers.

“’If we started in 1960, and we said [that] as productivity goes up … then the minimum wage was going to go up the same … if that were the case, the minimum wage today would be about $22 an hour,’ the senator said, at a recent Education, Labor and Pensions Committee hearing on “Keeping up with a Changing Economy: Indexing the Minimum Wage.’”

“Ms. Warren then suggested that those who say increasing the minimum wage to reflect current indexes are using flawed math. Raising the minimum wage by several dollars an hour is doable, she said.”

Interesting Gabriel Gomez Urban strategy emerging?

Today via news coverage and at a meet and greet in Fitchburg I gleaned the following.

Gabriel Gomez  says he's already been reaching out to minorities by visiting the state's urban

areas, like Boston, Lowell & Lawrence adding, "We were just out in Holyoke Saturday. 40%

hispanic population out there and we're going into areas where they don't even speak

English."

I think this is a brilliant strategy to turn out new Republican voters. Gabriel Gomez also

mentioned these voters share many core conservative values with Republicans. But in many

instances no outreach efforts have ever been made or were done with bad messaging.

Gabriel Gomez, Sullivan winning #MAsen social media Race

Dan Winslow is trending last in both Facebook like ad activity and Twitter follower activity (recent trend). Sullivan won for most new adds on Facebook while Gabriel Gomez won out at Twitter. Mike Sullivan continues to not have a presence on You Tube. The harried Tisei Team making a slew of digital gaffes with the Sullivan rollout....

Little Tisei is not a Michael Sullivan fan

A Massachusetts teacher, asked her class how many of them were Michael Sullivan fans.

Not really knowing what the heck a Michael Sullivan fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Tisei.

The teacher asked Little Tisei why he had decided to not conform... again.

Little Tisei said, "Because I'm not a Michael Sullivan fan."

The teacher asked, "Why aren't you a fan of Michael Sullivan?" Little Tisei said, "Because I'm not a fan of Michael Sullivan's website issues page."

The Teacher asked him why he was opposed to Sullivan borrowing his platform. Little Tisei answered, "Well, my Mom's not paid for by Scott Brown for Senate and my Dad's against plagiarism, so I'm opposed to Michael Sullivan."

Annoyed by this answer, an exacerbated teacher asked, "If your dad was endorsed by Ted Kennedy and your mom was for partial Amnesty, what would that make you?"

With a big smile, Little Tisei replied, "That would make me Michael Sullivan"

Ted Cruz at CPAC today - Conservatives can Win the Argument

Lets support Ted Cruz at CPAC and his update below:

header

Patriot,

This afternoon I’m giving the keynote speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference, the largest annual gathering of conservatives in America. I'm humbled and grateful for this historic chance to grow our movement, and I want to share it with you.

My speech will address how conservatives can Win the Argument, laying out an approach that I call "Opportunity Conservatism."  Every conservative argument, in my view, should focus on growth and opportunity – making it easier for all of us to achieve the American Dream.

And I’m asking the help of conservatives like you to help launch my new leadership PAC, the Jobs, Growth, and Freedom Fund.  Please click here to give me your input and wisdom on positive pro-growth ideas for the Jobs, Growth, and Freedom Fund.

I hope you can watch my speech today at 4:10pm CT by clicking here.

The Jobs, Growth, and Freedom Fund will work to help elect strong free-market conservatives and secure a Republican Senate Majority in 2014. We must continue to build and empower a national grassroots movement, which is why I hope you can join me in launching this new effort by watching my CPAC keynote speech at 4:10pm CT today and sharing your policy input.
Thank you.
For Liberty,
Ted Cruz
