Scott Brown signs the Iran Democratic Transition Act Bill

Scott Brown co-sponsored his first significant bill in DC. The Bill S.3800  that was introduced by Republicans John Cornyn and Sam Brownback. The bill is to establish a program to support a transition to a  freely elected, open democracy in Iran. This is a response to President Obama's inaction and lack of support of the Green movement and human rights atrocities occurring under the ruling Islamic Republic of Iran's watch. The Bill declares that the interest of the US and international peace are threatened by the ongoing and destabilizing actions of the Iran Government. The bill spells out support of democracy, free elections and support for human rights in Iran.

Scott Brown co-sponsored this bill along with 18 of the most Conservative Republican's in the Senate. Notable Co-sponsors are Jim Demint, David Vitter, Richard Burr, James Inhofe and John Ensign. Scott Browns involvement is consistent with his Hawkish aggressive campaign platform in regards to foreign policy and national security issues.

Senator Scott Brown fire's back at Joe Biden's recent comments "as insulting"

On CBS's “Face the Nation” last weekend, VP Joe Biden shot back that he doesn’t “know whether the new senator from Massachusetts understands: When you get tried in a military tribunal, you get a lawyer, too.”

Via Politico
http://www.politico.com/politico44/perm/0210/brown_vs_biden_63b114e2-ddd7-4713-8d0f-f9bdf492ab46.html

"It was insulting,” said  Scott Brown who frequently jabbed the administration on their policy of mirandizing terrorists trying them in the Private Legal system and not via Military Tribunals. Brown said he is upset by Biden’s remarks because he’s served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard for 30 years and is currently the Guard's top defense attorney in New England. “I know the military rules and regulations and procedures from A to Z,” Brown said.

“He’s trying to give me a lesson on military law, and I didn’t think it was appropriate,” Brown told Politico. “And I thought he was off base when it comes to explaining to the American people that somehow I need a lesson on whether people get attorneys — of course they get attorneys. There’s a difference as to what type of attorney they’re going to get and when they’re going to get that attorney, and how are they treated, and what rights do they, in fact, get.”

“I was actually surprised,” said Brown. When Biden swore him into office they had a nice chat, Brown said, and the vice president told him he could visit the vice presidential residence.

“I would have thought that he would have reached out personally rather than go through the media,” Brown said. “I’m not quite sure what the message to me was, but I felt that it was important enough to respond.”

“I’ve always felt that suspected terrorists should be tried in military tribunals and not civilian court, and as a matter of fact so do the majority of Americans,” Brown said. “The big difference is are we going to pay $1,000 an hour for a private attorney and treat him as a civilian or ordinary criminal in a criminal court, or are we going give him a military attorney who’s going to be paid as a captain, major or lieutenant colonel, and obviously go through the military tribunal process?”

Ironically Joe Biden has a long history of making outrageous and foot in mouth comments.A great resource of them all is chronicled here. http://politicalhumor.about.com/od/joebiden/a/bidenisms.htm Here are a few highlights:

"You know, I'm embarrassed. Do you know the Web site number? I should have it in front of me and I don't. I'm actually embarrassed." –Joe Biden, speaking to an aide standing out of view during an interview on CBS' "Early Show," in the midst of encouraging viewers to visit a government-run Web site that tracks stimulus spending, Feb. 25, 2009
"If we do everything right, if we do it with absolute certainty, there's still a 30% chance we're going to get it wrong." --Joe Biden, speaking to members of the House Democratic caucus who were gathered in Williamsburg, Va., for their annual retreat, Feb. 6, 2009

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened." –Joe Biden, apparently unaware that FDR wasn't president when the stock market crashed in 1929 and that only experimental TV sets were in use at that time, interview with Katie Couric, Sept. 22, 2008 (Watch video clip
"You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.... I'm not joking." --Joe Biden, in a private remark to an Indian-American man caught on C-SPAN, June, 2006 (Watch video clip)
"Stand up, Chuck, let 'em see ya." –-Joe Biden, to Missouri state Sen. Chuck Graham, who is in a wheelchair, Columbia, Missouri, Sept. 12, 2008 (Watch video clip
"I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places now. … When one person sneezes it goes all the way through the aircraft. That's me. I would not be, at this point, if they had another way of transportation, suggesting they ride the subway." --Joe Biden, providing handy tips to protect against the swine flu andfreaking us out, "Today Show" interview, April 30, 2009

My personal favorite was last summer at an AARP meeting.Joe Biden said,  “Well, people when I say that look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about? You’re telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?’” Biden said. “The answer is yes, I’m telling you.”

Having now all the details, Joe Biden acted stupidly calling out Scott Brown on Military Tribunal issues. I mean Brown is only a Sr Legal  30 year Veteran in the Army National Guard. My hat off to Scott Brown for swiftly answering back and setting the record correct. Joe Biden has a long history of making half cocked bizarre statements and he chalks up yet another.

Scott "Brown Brigade" mobilizes to take another Kennedy seat

Sen. Scott Brown's election has been shown to be "a joke," the son of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) said Thursday. http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/79863-patrick-kennedy-scott-browns-candidacy-a-joke  In what may be a Coakley like gaffe Patrick Kennedy slams Scott Brown and call's him and his campaign a "joke" I could write on and on about Junior Kennedy's issues and problems but going to take the high road like Scott Brown has. Scott Brown on Howie Carr's show asked on topic (paraphrase) I can't be distracted, I have a job to do. And what was said is what it is.

Patrick Kennedy must be aware of his very negative polls going into the November 2010 election in the Rhode Island Congressional race. Patrick Kennedy has a 62% negative rating in Rhode Island. http://news.bostonherald.com/news/columnists/view/20100206hey_patrick_kennedy_did_you_hear_the_one_about_/srvc=home&position=1

But no one can take a Kennedy seat in Rhode Island is the same mantra Marcia, er, Martha Coakley supporters hung to in Ma special election where Scott Brown took back the peoples seat. But Republicans can't put a candidate that can win out there is the next fallback.

Enter stage left Republican John Loughlin. “We’ve got a congressman who’s not connecting with voters or the people. He’s pushing policies that are diametrically opposed with needs of people - to get the economy going and create jobs,” said Loughlin, of Tiverton. “We can’t afford it anymore.”
WPRI-12 pollster Joe Fleming said, “This is the best-financed challenger he’s faced since the first time he ran, and his favorability numbers are way down. “Congressman Kennedy could have a very competitive race.”

Per NRO  The political joke could be on him (Kennedy): The Republican challenging him, John Loughlin, is being advised by the same team responsible for the Scott Brown win. http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=NGRlMTgwNGIwYTBlZGUzMjc2OGQ1ODUwNWRjYjg3NjE=  Two Kennedy seats in New England could very well be taken back in 2010.

More on Team Brown moving on to advise and work for John Loughlin in his race against Patrick Kennedy.   http://www.rifuture.org/myblog/rep-loughlin-hires-scott-browns-team-to-unseat-kennedy.html

Bill Rappleye has the scoop on some potential hires as Rep. John Laughlin seeks to unseat Patrick Kennedy for U.S. House District 1.

The horrifying performance of Democratic Senate candidate Martha Coakley could be equaled by the supreme campaign run by Scott Brown…no matter who wins tonite.  RI State Rep. John Loughlin (R), has noticed.  He figures if a state legislator can win a former Kennedy seat in Massachusetts, or at least erase a double digit poll lead during the campaign, then the same team can take on the last elected Kennedy in the Rhode Island 1st District race.  The Rapp Session has learned Loughlin will be hiring Beth Myers, Peter Flaherty and Eric Fehrnstrom,  all veterans of the Romney Presidential bid, as soon as their race with Scott Brown is finished.
What a bitter sorrow to the Democratic Party it would be if Coakley lost to Brown, and then Kennedy lost to Loughlin using the same team and the same strategy.

To make matters worse for Patrick Kennedy after his "joke"comment shot at Scott Brown it has mobilized Scott Brown fans virally across the internet upset and ready to work towards unseating yet another Kennedy seat.

The Brown Brigade is already mobilizing here:

Slamming Scott Brown with the "joke" label may have been a lethal mistake to Patrick Kennedy's reelection. chances. Will Kennedy even be on the ballot in November?

Will Scott Brown be the new leadership we need in DC?

First signs regarding healthcare bill  are a resounding yes.  http://www.dailybrisk.com/2010/01/lets-start-over-on-healthcare-brown.html Scott Brown said Sunday that he would work with President Obama on pocketbook issues like $33 billion in tax cuts to businesses that hire. But he sees no future for the healthcare reform bill. Let's start over on healthcare, Brown says.

The democrats tried to ram Socialized government healthcare bill through last August unread. Then locked the doors to Republicans/Americans and one party tried to ram it through yet again. Where was the transparency on CSPAN?  It was all a big lie. Now that Scott Brown is in town it is time to shelve this DOA health care  bill. Time to start over from scratch with real Bipartisan inputs.

Tomorrow Scott Brown will be sworn in to the peoples seat representing Massachusetts in the Senate. It is time to focus on economy, jobs, national security and getting Americans back on track. Somewhere JFK and Ronald Reagan will be looking down and smiling as Scott Brown is sworn in tomorrow.
